Sara Elizabeth (Wells) Greene

Sara Elizabeth Wells Greene, 42, of Nicholasville, wife of the late Lucas Greene, passed away Monday April 1, 2024 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.

Sara was born May 18, 1981 in Lexington and spent much of her early childhood in Nicholasville. Her family later moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, the place that Sara would always call home. She returned to KY and worked in nursing at Paragon Family Practice. Sara loved to travel and enjoyed her many return visits to the city lights of Charlotte, where she had lifelong friendships that became her chosen family. Sara was an amazing cook, excelled at organization and had a keen mind for business. She enjoyed being involved in the music industry and volunteered extensively, giving generously of her time, resources, and her wonderful loving heart.

Surviving are her children Zachary Wells, Zaylee Wells, Raylin Greene and Kiley Greene and grandson Kingston Wells, all of Nicholasville; a brother Alan Wells Jr; her nephews Michael & Malachi Wells; her best friend and godmother to her children, Kenda Cato; 3 cousins: Kellie Dryden-Bigelow, Courtney Harrab, and Cody Griffin; special children in her life, Trey & Cody Coleman, J’ream Golphin & Quincy Demoss, and a large extended family of cherished friends. 

Sara was preceded in death by her father, Alan Wells, Sr., and grandmother, Anna Lou Wells. 

In accordance with her wishes, Sara will be cremated. The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
